July 18, 2010

Sunday was a preaching day for me and a teaching day for Bro. Bill Morrissey. During the Sunday-School time Bro. Bill taught in one of the children’s classes. In the morning service (after SS) Bro. John Gray had me preach while Bro. Bill was teaching a lesson to the Junior Church children.

His lesson was on “walking by faith and not by sight.” It included an obstacle course in which a child was blind-folded while another was to guide that one through a maze to a finish point. Without listening to the voice of God we will go the wrong way or get all tangled up in the affairs of this life. He showed that it is important to be attentive to God’s leading in our life and not go in our own way following our own senses.

God allowed be to bear my heart in a fervent message to the lost. There was at least one visitor from the invitations that went forth on Saturday. Without a doubt there were many lost there, but none came forward for salvation. (Many Christians came forward to pray for the lost…many of their family members and friends are still without God.) It was a planting and a watering message/time. It is God that will give the increase. There are many here who want to make the commitment, but the pull of family or the religion they were “born into” deter them from coming to the Saviour. Only God can bring to their attention their need for salvation and draw them to His side. May the Holy Spirit do a work in them that no man can do…even tonight as they go to sleep. Let them have a restless time as they consider the preaching that they heard today, O Father.
